2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers Guidelines

Two days from now, every aspiring teacher will take the 2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers and I would like to share with you some things to bring on the day of the exam. I filed my LET last year and took the exam last September 2017. To avoid some hassle and unfortunate situations on the day of the exam, I browsed for the requirements as announced by PRC.

Above is a checklist of the things to bring and the prescribed attire on the exam. Honestly, on the day of the exam, I brought with me all of these things but not all of these are asked to be presented BUT still, prepare and bring the following:

  1. Notice of Admission (NOA) - DO NOT FORGET! For the proctors to identify you as an official examinee, be sure to present your NOA. The NOA is the first thing the proctors ask examinees to bring out. The NOA holds your Application Number that is also the same as your test booklet (as I remember). Some proctors also check for your picture just to be sure that you are the examinee and not a proxy.
  2. PRC Official Receipt/ Mode of Payment - This may  vary depending on where you paid your fees. You may bring your receipt from PRC, Bayad Centers or 711 etc.,  As for me, I always snap a picture of any official receipt with regards to the exam to save me from worry in case I lost my receipt.
  3. Two or more Mongol No. 2 pencils - Two is better than one! Have your pencils sharpened before the exam. You may opt to use one but in case your pencil tip breaks, use your reserved pencil to continue answering. At the end of the exam,(this depends) proctors may ask examinees to donate the pencils for children in the coming school year. Sharing is caring.
  4. Ballpens with Black ink- you may be wondering why you are asked for a black pen but this is to fill up the official list of examinees, time of start and end of answering gen.ed/prof ed and official papers.
  5. One piece metered stamp envelope, One piece long brown envelope, one piece long transparent envelope - these were not collected from us and I still have it with me today along with the souvenir (binding of the examination sheet, don't know what's it called! LOL)
As for the prescribed attire, examinees should wear white polo short for both male and female. Pants or slacks are most prefered but skirts with appropriate length will do as well. Use closed shoes rather than slippers since this is a official examination, you would want to look formal.

Also, bring light snacks like bread and crackers, some chocolates and a lot of WATER! Be careful in eating chocolates because it might smudge on your answering sheet. To save you some time in seeking the canteen/ convenience store, bring your own packed lunch.

Good luck future teachers! Claim your glory! Be a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT)!💓😎
